Most children want to be a fireman, doctor, or a policeman when they are younger, but change their mind as they get older. Not Leslie. At three years old while her dad was on the platform preaching, she turned to her mom and told her that she was going to sing for Jesus.

Leslie recalls, “I’ve been truly blessed with parents that will do anything in their power to help their children get what God wants of them. My parents encouraged me even in my darkest of times.” She met a lot of challenges, but one of her biggest was at age 14 when she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Those challenges were enough to cause most artists to give up on their dreams. However, when you see and hear Leslie sing, it is evident that through Christ, she has risen above her challenges and is now seeing her dreams come to fruition.

“In addition to my parents, King David from the Old Testament was an inspiration to me. All anyone would have to do is to simply read the songs that he wrote in the book of Psalms and they’d see why. He had a real heart and desire for the things of God. He never let anyone hold him back even when things seemed to be impossible.”
