| Shelley Harris is
truly an extraordinary singer. At the flip of a switch, Shelley can
seamlessly switch styles, and she is completely comfortable singing anything
from classical, pop, contemporary, and soulful r&b, all the way to
gospel and jazz. With a pure voice, she sings straight from her heart,
and it is evident in her genuinely soulful sounds. One overwhelmed
critic recently stated about Shelley, " From the heartfelt cries of "Wash
Over Me" and "Less of Me," to the simple truth of "All I Need," to the
worshipful crescendo of "One Touch" and the passion of "Swept Away," you
will find "Heart of Mine" to have so much depth, beauty and contrast, that
it will be the album you just can't get enough of."
It can honestly be
said that Shelley is a well-rounded and experienced musician. She
has a background as a first-call studio musician in many major cities across
the United States, and this has placed her among the most versatile singers
in the midwest. As a professional singer, She has worked with music
artists such as Johnny Mathis, Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, Sandi Patty,
Ray Boltz, and Bill Gaither, both in the studio and in concert.
As a vocal coach,
Shelley spends much of her time coaching and training other artists, one
of which happens to be her daughter, Krystal Harris Peterson. Krystal
was the opening artist for the Backstreet Boys' "Black and Blue" tour,
and her voice can be heard on the movie soundtracks for Princess Diaries,
Legally Blonde, Disney's Country Bears, and others.
Shelley performs
regularly in many different settings across the nation and abroad, and
she is also a great clinician and teacher. With a strong grasp on
technical skills, she teaches and trains worship leaders, singers, musicians,
and choirs, taking them to the next level musically and challenging them
to grow in their daily lifestyle of worship. |
